Spin A Load Of Baloney, And Then Lock Up People Who Compla

The Future Will Not Be Containing Many Of The Things We Grew Up With

And then there's climate change upon us and the series of hurricanes wiping out lives all over, there are lots of places which are now unliveable and lost to civilisation as well, more and more of the Earth destroyed and useless, and more and more people to migrate, and find the last vestiges of marginal land to drive into more deserts... Not to mention the loss of diversity of other life forms and the extinction of species... The future will not be containing many of the things we grew up with, that's for those who've grown up... I know we've already lost a football field full of animals which would have a species lost in every square metre... So many fast food meals gone forever...

The Only Original Life Left Are In Cemeteries

I heard this morning that the land between Sydney and Melbourne is mostly deforested 99% of the way, it's true, I've driven it so many times and look in dreadful awe at the destruction, just a few isolated dying one tree islands with no replacements, no nothing, the only original life left are in cemeteries, and you rarely see any farming, and the weed and erosion channels are all over... What a travesty for human life on earth, the whole of Australia is now well down the road to Easter Island status, and the same mindset is in the Neo-Coalition government...

Spin A Load Of Baloney, And Then Lock Up People Who Complain

And so the petty politics going on now with bluddy stupid things like Intelligent Design being a science, and this crazy beat up war on the Third World Poor called terrorists, which now is being passed in parliaments, to just have people disappear off the streets or railway stations, like a story I just read about a bloke in England being put through police state rigors cause he looked suspicious, as well as these laws about freedom of speech, and the possibility of anyone talking about how bad these Neo-Coalition Governments are, the freedoms which were established overs years of struggle being swept away by Redneck Knee Jerks scared of their own shadows, which is literally true... They demonise their lower class victims, and attack them for resources, and trick, and spin a load of baloney, and then lock up people who complain to keep them out the way, and torture them to boot... Charming types... Not that I'm complaining...

That Business Of Merging Unions Together Is Not Right

A Huge Conspiratorial Coalition Of Business And Politics To Just Keep On Consuming

So faced with the mortality of the Planet Earth being attacked on all fronts by human interventionists, it's just hugely disappointing seeing the World being devoured and ruined by the Easter Islander brained Neo-Coalitionists... I see them as the political party of the consumer suppliers, there's a huge conspiratorial coalition of business and politics to just keep on consuming, with never ending growth factors in a blast furnace fired economy, in which the perpetrators huddle up in gated communities, and drink bottled water, have private schools, private security, private health care, and privatised transport, with all the bells and whistles of exorbitant consumption... Even the Commonwealth Serum Laboratories to whom we could have relied on to respond to the Bird Flu have been privatised and out of public responsibility, and will be driven by a profit motive I guess, tragic, same as the bank and insurance and the airline and the mining and deforestation issues...

That Business Of Merging Unions Together Is Not Right

For instance, the coalition between the Unions destroying the forests, the same union for private mining, the CFMEU, making deals with the Little Liars government, in bed together... And for that matter what the hell are these Unions which represent deforestation and mining doing in a coalition with each other anyway, that business of merging unions together is not right, never was, all sorts of conflict of interests and neglect of the little issues which hurt... Like there's a huge brown coal poisonous Power Industry which has to be closed down, phased out and replaced as soon as possible, but wait, wait, wait till the coal is sold, like, wait til we sell the last tree, wait till we catch the last fish, wait till we till the last soil, wait till the bell tolls for thee...

Leaving Inspiration To The Birds, Who Are Getting The Flu To Boot

Leaving Inspiration To The Birds, Who Are Getting The Flu To Boot

Inundated into quietness, and I've been reading the book Collapse of Civilisations by Jared Diamond and it's lessons from history that are all ignored, such big issues which get pushed back under trivialities played out in shallow media, so being bombarded with bad news takes it's toll, and the billions of words spewed out, like this, in a billion blogs which never get read anyway, and then all the emails into the ALP Soapbox which I skim read religiously, it's just a spiral down into leaving Inspiration to the birds, who are getting the flu to boot...

Social Problems Which Turn Political, To Pit Greenies Against Redneck Deregulators

The parallels for today's world with the lost civilisations is as plain as The Desert Plagues in the Garden of Eden, I have read about the Easter Islanders, the wrecked ecology they left behind as testament to their warring hatreds and religious stupidity, going on to the woes of Montana, a once monument to the beautiful and bountiful American continent which is now poisoned and eroded and invaded by pests such as human land developers and Gated Communities, it's a crime, and the social problems which turn political to pit Greenies against Redneck Deregulators, it's a shake your head scenario...

How The Brilliance Of Human Inventiveness In Food Production Turns Nature Against Them

And then the Farming, how the brilliance of human inventiveness in food production turns nature against them, the erosion gullies, the water table problems, salt, the rampant deforestation which features right up there as the raw material for the subsequent demise of civilisations, and there it is on the news every week now, another landslide, another burial of some small city, washaways and destruction, just enormous damage from nature when it unleashes the forces on human consumption techniques, I saw a huge slice of mountain rock appearing after that earthquake across Asia, which looks so familiar in the deforested Bible Belt of Xtianity...

The Charade That's Being Played Out As Justice

2005 October 19, Wednesday, 11:44

The Charade That's Being Played Out As Justice

The trial of Saddam has been kicked along with charges that date back some 20 odd years, even when he was the puppet for the West! The Law has taken such a battering of late, and justice seems a distant history, I can remember reading the accounts of the Nuremburg trials and the arguments for justice and process, but these torture camps and detention centres and imprisonment without charge or a trial or lawyers, it's abysmal the charade that's being played out as justice, and the whistleblowers get trashed... What happened to the people we once were? Seems a whole generation has taken their eyes off the ball and let things slip...

After A Suicide Bombing, Who Did It

2005 October 11, Tuesday, 19:11

After A Suicide Bombing There's A Big Investigation As To Who Did It?

I keep noticing in the news that after a suicide bombing there's a big investigation as to who did it? And then they never find out why he did it, just a photo of his head, but then who is he, why did this individual hate us so much as to die for it? But we all know who did it, it was the Moslems or something, Islamic or something from some other fundie faction, there's a whole lot of breakaways, but they did it anyway, now we all know, but why did they do it? The motive? Hmmm was it Ummmm insulting, or jealousy, or just plain old religious bigotry and age old mumbo jumbo, or is it just oil, energy being so expensive these days, owning the power... Or to have foreign armies from the USA's Coalition blowing them up every day? Seems to me they fighting to the death for their own principles which the West tags as criminal behaviour against the invaders? Why doesn't the media start calling a horse a horse? Oh they shoot horses don't they... Is it just playing cowboys still? With deputy dogs to boot?

The Most Brilliant Person She Knows

2005 October 11, Tuesday, 12:33

In Her Judgment George Dubya-Dubya-III Was The Most Brilliant Person She Knows

Some things have a classic clang or irony when the High Court of the USA gets it's latest nominee, a law clerk type from George Dubya-Dubya-III's office, one of his cohorts you could say, and here she is being shoved onto the high court to bolster the fundamentalists I'd guess, and then comes out with that: In her judgment George Dubya-Dubya-III was the most brilliant person she knows, what a mind she must have to be dealing with the Law, that's LAW, she is bereft of qualifications cept be being known by George, what a recommendation, the USA is now surely the laughing stock of the World... But it's not funny...

It's Enough To Make Ya Paranoid

2005 October 9, Sunday, 19:04

It's Enough To Make Ya Paranoid, All These Impending Disasters

Jesus H christ it's enough to make ya paranoid, all these impending disasters, I was trying to think up the list:

The Biggest Threat? The threat to Mankind is Mankind itself

The rise of neo Nazis Conservative Religious Rightwing Bigots

Nature's revolt in the weather from Global Warming Climate Change

Fossil fuel Energy from coal and oil and carbon emissions

Current U.S. Government

The Free Trade Crash to burst the bubble

The xtian right wing USA infecting culture

The return of torture, arbitrary detention and attack on civil rights

The control and corruption of the media and monopolies

The Avian flu, or Ebola virus

The Rise of China and cheap non-unionised labour

Ancient religions in the Clash of Culture

The States of Israel and Palestine

Countries such as Iran and Syria

Nuclear, chemical and biological war

Tsunamis, Volcanoes and Earthquakes

The Killer Asteroid and another Mass Extinction

"What's The Worst Threat To Mankind"

I am sure there's more I just don't really wanna think about it... Why don't they have an online poll for the whole world, and then regions, and they have a "What's the worst threat to Mankind" and then you can vote for a topic, cause the topics would have to be chosen to include every conceivable threat, so cripes that would be say 6 billion? So you'd have to summarise them into some catchphrase to explain it all... In how many words? Well I reckon about how many it takes to make a headline, you have to be succinct...

John Doyle's Andrew Ollie Lecture

2005 October 8, Saturday, 21:00

John Doyle's Andrew Ollie Lecture

Oh god, I just listened to John Doyle's Andrew Ollie lecture... He puts it so well the bugger, I been saying all that in as many words if some less, and he goes on that ABC show and blasts the whole media world apart, god he's a clever bugger and even managed to through in the Universe and string theory and what the hell are we doing with it, so good, that speech is a classic I spose... and I have it on my iPod to lissen to again... What a blessing the iPod is...

If They're Silly Enough To Believe In God They Are Certainly Too Silly To Be Making Law In Parliament

2005 October 6, Thursday, 08:20

The USA Is Now Seen As A Religious Right Wing Cock Up

It might be my preferences for media, but lately there's been a plethora of criticism of the religious right, or religiosity as it gets called, like there's a report which compares the religiosity of countries and shows how the more religiosity invades a country the worse it gets, like the USA is way down on civilised standards and all the blame lays at the feet of the Religious Right, the very things they wack on about have the worst results, like teenage pregnancies, and murder and crime, and social problems, they have Creationists and now the Designed dream, their crazy drug war, the worst health care and such, their primitive gun laws, the pre-emptive wars they keep waging on the rest of the world, the whole scenario of the USA is now seen as a religious right wing cock up...

Large-scale surveys show dramatic declines in religiosity in favour of secularization in the developed democracies. Popular acceptance of evolutionary science correlates negatively with levels of religiosity, and the United States is the only prosperous nation where the majority absolutely believes in a creator and evolutionary science is unpopular. Abundant data is available on rates of societal dysfunction and health in the first world. Cross-national comparisons of highly differing rates of religiosity and societal conditions form a mass epidemiological experiment that can be used to test whether high rates of belief in and worship of a creator are necessary for high levels of social health. Data correlations show that in almost all regards the highly secular democracies consistently enjoy low rates of societal dysfunction, while pro-religious and anti-evolution America performs poorly.

Cross-National Correlations of Quantifiable Societal Health with Popular Religiosity and Secularism in the Prosperous Democracies: A First Look

If They're Silly Enough To Believe In God They Are Certainly Too Silly To Be Making Law In Parliament

One of the best criteria on which to judge how suitable a person is to make the rules in Parliament is whether you reckon they believe in religious claptrap or not, like if they're silly enough to believe in god they are certainly too silly to be making law in Parliament, that's the whole church and state separation... A best example was when the original immigrants from Europe escaped to America to avoid Kings and Popes and the religious hatreds bred up over centuries, the USA founding fathers specifically denied religion from any role or support from the new Constitution and those rotten headed xtians have been forever dragging us back to primitive stupid religious garbage, so simplistic and childish, they believe in literally taking biblical mush stories as fact, when any one half sane can see it as a load of fairy stories and wishful thinking, then the worst is they use it to justify all sorts of crap to deny human rights, they ought to be banned properly like the Constitution says, anyone mentioning god in Parliament ought to be expelled...

The Religious Right Wing In America Provide The Worst Example Of Government We've Ever Seen

One good thing coming out of the disaster of the religious right wing in America is that they provide the worst example of government we've ever seen, and people just get turned off, like lissening to the crap that George Dubya-Dubya-III  stumbles over is giving people the heebie jeebie's, the way he's always sprinkling "godswill" though his bumbling preaches is making them look so stupid as to be ludicrous, and the polls about the administration are showing that up...

Once The West Gets Over It's Oil Addiction The Bombings Will Stop

2005 October 4, Tuesday, 12:18

Once The West Gets Over It's Oil Addiction The Bombings Will Stop

So! What bombing? Having the news turned off fir a few days and nothing happens, as far as you know anyway, but the flock of fools who took the trip to Bali, where they all write Target on their foreheads, well what do they expect... And then the pundits say there's nothing to be done to be protected, and that's true and they're all terrified bar the idjuts, when the real answer is to stop stealing the Muslim World's oil and get the armies out of the Muslim World's countries, seems straight forward enough, and then develop an alternative energy system, so there is an answer and once the West gets over it's oil addiction the bombings will stop...

What Do You Think The Easter Islander Who Chopped Down The Last Tree Said

2005 September 22, Thursday, 19:40

Professor Jared Diamond, Spoke About The History Of The World's Lost Civilisations

One particular bloke, Professor Jared Diamond, spoke about the history of the world's lost civilisations, the lost cities and lost nations of the not so very distant past, why are they deserted and left uninhabited and depopulated? Basically cause they all cut down their fertile forests and destroyed their food resources, that is, they ruined their environments, which is what I been saying for yonks... You've got all these religious wankers carrying on about the biblical lands which is where the Fertile Crescent allowed them to get started on farming and domesticating animals, not so fortuitous as it turned out, cause today it's the worst hell on earth, and a cruel god divined desert...

What Do You Think The Easter Islander Who Chopped Down The Last Tree Said

Here's some extracts off the ABC transcript from the author of "Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed" and "Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies" which explain so much:

Why On Earth Did These People Do Such Dumb Things?

My students at the University of California asked me a question whose significance I hadn’t appreciated as yet.

  • Why on earth did these people do such dumb things, chop down trees, too many trees. Why didn’t they realise that they were getting into trouble? What do you think the Easter Islander who chopped down the last tree said as he was doing it?

And my students suggested various answers. One answer was, maybe that islander said:

  • ‘Never fear, technology will solve our problems by finding a substitute for wood’.

Or maybe he said:

  • ‘Keep big government of the federal chiefs off my back, this is my private property and I can do what I want with it’.

Or perhaps he said:

  • ‘Your fears are exaggerated; your ecological models are untested; we need more research; a ban on logging would be premature’.

Or the week before last – remember, I’m from the United States where we have a large evangelical portion of our population. So the week before last someone suggested to me maybe the person who chopped down the last tree said:

  • ‘Never fear, have faith, God will provide for us’.

Professor Jared Diamond

The Role Of The Elite In A Society.

The Wealthy People In A Society Are Able To Insulate Themselves From The Consequences Of Their Own Actions

When I was trying to understand again why some societies solve their problems and other fail to solve their problems, I eventually realised that the societies that failed to solve their problems often contain a blueprint for failure. And that blueprint for failure is when the elite, the politicians and the wealthy people in a society are able to insulate themselves from the consequences of their own actions. If the leading politicians and the rich can insulate themselves from their actions then they are removed from the motivation, they aren’t healing the problems of society and they’re not motivated to solve societies’ problems until it’s too late.

‘The Gated Community’

That’s a problem that concerns people increasingly in the United States today. In the last ten years in the US there has been a proliferation of a phenomenon that we call in the US, ‘the gated community’. It’s a living arrangement in which wealthy people live in a separate neighbourhood surrounded by a fence with a gate, cutting themselves off from the problems of society. Within the gate, people are wealthy, powerful Americans

  • Who hire their own private security patrol, so they’re not concerned with the problems of the public police force;
  • They drink bottled water, so they’re not concerned with the municipal water supply;
  • Send their kids to private schools where they’re not worried about the problems of our public schools.
  • They have private pension plans, so they’re not concerned with problems of our social security and national retirement system,
  • And they also have private health insurance plans, so they’re not concerned with problems of our Medicare, our national medical insurance.

Professor Jared Diamond

‘The Only People Who Think That It’s Possible To Sustain Growth Indefinitely Are Idiots And Economists’.

Question from audience: A lot of people want to live in this country from around the world and a lot of people want to live in America. Instead of shutting them out, how can we take advantage of potential population growth, sustainably?

Jared Diamond: By definition you cannot. You cannot have sustainable population growth just as you cannot have fuel-efficient Hummers and you cannot have jumbo shrimp and other oxymorons. One cannot have population growth sustainably in a word of finite resources. There is a book written by a famous economist whose front page carried the slogan,

  • ‘The only people who think that it’s possible in a world of finite resources to sustain growth indefinitely are idiots and economists’.

Professor Jared Diamond

Now The RSS Feeds And PodCast Subscriptions, Anything To Lure A Consumer

2005 September 22, Thursday, 16:43

Now The RSS Feeds And PodCast Subscriptions, Anything To Lure A Consumer

The new world of media, a bombardment with media, so the unpredicted always makes the running, all the talk of newspapers dying, the classifieds moving on-line, and now the RSS feeds and PodCast subscriptions, anything to lure a consumer onto the web and to do what? Get exposure, but it's that irresistible lure of the clips and snippets and breaking news, you have to click on those 4 minutes ago, 6 minutes ago and such, and there's no time for anything else...

Endless Niggling Argument, I Dunno If All This Divergent Opinion Ever Gets Anywhere

Cause we already know there's just too much to read, like the blogs are countless, the words are infinite, it just goes on and on, so all the discussion of influence peddling and other opinion from Fox and such, well it may be out there but no one is going to read it... If they do it's a sheepish thing and wanting to hear what they already think, I know all about that... And there's so much argument, like wherever the chat takes place there's argument, endless niggling argument, I dunno if all this divergent opinion ever gets anywhere, it seems so strange still that these elections are so close, like Germany just had a cliff-hanger same as New Zealand, it's a strange world of human minds that soak up whatever it is that makes them split so evenly, weird...

Another Major Catastrophe To Make People Come Together

Even within people you consider to be on the beam, there's always some divergence, like the Aussie political parties are so fractious, the Labor Party has factions which once were political on issues, but now it's Toe A Line to stay in consideration, so I spose there will be another major catastrophe to make people come together on the important issues and all the drivel gets submerged, like in a storm surge hurricane for instance...

Once We Looked Forward To The Future, But Now It's Better Looking Back

So I been feeling over indulged in media wash, I've lissened in to so many more podcasts to frighten the pants of ya, and then so many others to frustrate ya, like the religion reports, and the media and the science, and lists of dire warnings, just goes on and on... There doesn't seem to be a viable future anymore, like once we looked forward to the future, but now it's better looking back...

When It Comes To Prime Ministers I'd Have Dr Tim Flannery Any Day

2005 September 16, Friday, 11:36

The Lack Of Care About The Environment Is Still As Baffling As Ever

Talking of would be prime minsters there's the real problems we face which are just shunned, the lack of care about the environment is still as baffling as ever, you see these voters go into paroxysms of paranoia about xenophobia but give no heed at all to the future of the precious planet... I heard Dr Tim Flannery again and the warnings are dire, it's absolutely scary the apathy the Americans show to climate change, and the replacement theologies they come up with are horrifyingly similar from the religious right, they wont have it that environmentalists are correct, they still have the wacko mind blocks from some strange faith in a god thingo, but even more disquiet is their inevitability belief that the world will end and they will go to heaven or some such crap... Well give me hell any day rather than drift thru eternity with that mob, and anyway it's a hell here on our beloved real live heavenly earth that they are bringing...

When It Comes To Prime Ministers I'd Have Dr Tim Flannery Any Day

Meanwhile the world is really on a temperature climb, the figures that Dr Tim Flannery quotes are big numbers, and his solutions are pretty well acceptable and simple in many ways, but he is a man we should all lissen to and heed, he's the best prophet we have for the times, and when it comes to prime ministers I'd have Dr Tim Flannery any day... He even went wistful about starting a new political party, it's what we need, and to capture the zeal you get from religion, you have to love the planet and it's nature and you have to see yourself as a guardian, maybe the new party should be called the earth's guardians, cause you'd have to strong and persuasive to throttle off all those red necks...

What Is It That Latham And The Party Differed On???

2005 September 16, Friday, 10:57

The Freedom Of Speech That Those Youngsters Fought Wars For

There's been another Cuffuffle over Mark Latham, he finally pops back up with his diaries published, now I spose there's a lot of diarists and bloggers, and letter writers to the editors, who all have a say, to dip the pen in the ink in your own diaries is the freedom of speech that those youngsters thought they fought wars with strange enemies for, those freedoms of speech and opinion and thought that are so important and which the current governments are ripping up and joining the dark forces...

What I Enjoy About Latham Is His Unabashed Speech

But what I enjoy about Latham is his unabashed speech, he drops the niceties and the decorum and the properness and speaks his mind in his own language and says what he thinks, and I always reckon people who're swearing when they speak are far more likely to be truthful than those guarded lips that spin out snaky political speak, so I think it's refreshing to hear Latham speak, it was similar to when Keating used to do those off the cuff explanations of how rotten the Tories were...

Most Of What He Said In Disparaging Personalities Was Second Hand

But Latham's speaking terms are so much more colourful than the blandishments me-too-ism garbage we are used to hearing, thing is with his bluff and bluster most of what he said in disparaging personalities was second hand, like he's just the same with scuttlebutt rumour, y'know, I heard this about so and so, but don't tell anyone I told you... For Christ's sake it's just a pile of baloney anyway, and it reveals that side of politics which leaves us in despair, cause we all know now that there too many persuasions in the parties, they have to do this and that to just stay in!!! Maybe that Secret Anonymous Compulsory Voting thing is needed...

What Is It That Latham And The Party Differed On???

And the Media goes around on a Ferris Wheel about Latham's name calling, which is Bugga all in consequence, but what about getting a list of the policies that Latham and the machine men disagreed on??? Just what have the machine men ticked as against what Latham wanted to cross out, and then what would he give the tick to??? That's what I wanna know, what was the fight really about??? After all they use the dirt file tactics to get rid of people who wont toe their line so what is it that Latham and the Party differed on??? What???

Clean Out The Powers That Put Me-Too Stamps On The Rotten Policies Of The Rotten Government

And what the hell are Politicians doing keeping secrets anyway, it's all too shoddy, get it all out in the open, I reckon Latham has done a rake over and it still reveals that machine room instead of the party room, maybe the parties should be over, it's so refreshing to hear Andren and those other more independent people, even Barnaby Joyce, for all the good he did for anyone but those who scratch his back, so Labor ought to take heed of Latham and clean out the powers that put Me-Too-Stamps on the rotten policies of the rotten Government...

Labor Should Be Championing The Welfare State, And Government Run Public Services

I like Latham, I like his speaking out, I can't say he's middle of the road enough for me though, I'd prefer him in the So-Called Liberals... I like the idea of a new Labor related to the workers and unions again, the wage earners and their wives and children, Labor should be championing the Welfare State and Government run Public Services like Health and Education and Energy and Communications, cause sure as hell (environmentally speaking), there will come a time when the swing back to middle of the road politics will come, you can still have Private Products manufactured in Australia for sale anywhere to anyone who wants it, once you put up Tariff Barriers and stop imports, and you can turn Australia into a self sufficient Nation, who doesn't depend on anyone else for anything...

It's Crazy To Let The Pollies Be Bought Off By Coal Energy Thuggery

Australia should take up the renewable energy challenge and leave the coal in the ground, it's just plain stupid to be tying ourselves to a dirty old pollution that is dooming our future, it's crazy to let the pollies be bought off by Coal Energy thuggery...

Thou Shalt Always Have Compulsory Secret Voting

2005 September 2, Friday, 15:17

Thou Shalt Always Have Compulsory Secret Voting

I been wanting to say this again for ages, so with all the talk of reform and a one vote tilt in the Senate to tip things over, here is the greatest reform you could ever implement, it's this, Thou Shalt Always Have Compulsory Secret Voting... You see whenever the bully sees how you vote he can threaten you, but with compulsory secret voting, you can't be singled out for special treatment either way... So if anyone wants to have a referendum for Compulsory Secret Voting then they should do it, it's the proper thing to do, and democracy fails without it... That is the way to defeat intimidation and corruption...

The Wake Of The Hurricane

2005 September 2, Friday, 13:40

The Wake Of The Hurricane

Well the devastation is so huge for the wake of the hurricane, and the plight of the population is scary, whatever will become of them, the threats from disease is about to spread, and then there's gangs of looters and rapists and anarchy, it's abysmal... I remember all the movies made to salute disasters but this one is too real, the Media cameras bring it into the minds of the rest of the world, and the thoughts of how the so-called richest country in the world can be brought to third world level overnight, the refugees look just as hopeless as all over, cept these ones seem a lot fatter to start with...

Where's George Bush???, And Where's God??? Where's Our Army???

And the cry goes up Where's George Bush??? Poor dumb George Dubya-Dubya-III  even forsook his holidays on the ranch, and Where's God??? That ought to be asked and answered, There ain't any god, that's obvious... And it seems such a huge black population as well, so the USA must be segregated as much as always... And the next demand will of course be Bring the Troops Home to look after us... And so they should, all that equipment and manpower wasted on oil wars when it could be put to good use instead... Where's our Army???

A Model For Commonsense

Makes you wonder how this disaster will ever be repaired physically or even if it should, surely with global warming and more frequent weather events it's folly to live below sea level, maybe they will restrict the repairs to operate the essential services, but pumping out the low areas may well enough be abandoned, it will only happen repeatedly into the future, no matter about praying to their false gods... Take it as an opportunity to build a sensible population centre somewhere else for the future, with proper housing built with protection from the fire and flood exacerbated elements, and using proper energy sources, and with proper water and sewerage processing, and develop it as a model for commonsense instead of crazy designs which fail everytime they're stressed... But then America needs a good dose of social responsibility instead of all that dangerous individualism, look at all the individuals scurrying around with guns and making their own rules on the run... Makes those gun laws look ever more dangerous when there's an anarchy breakout...

Waiting For The Bubble To Burst

And most sane people have all been waiting for the bubble to burst, waiting for the collapse to come, and looking for the pricks which will do it, and here's one now, with the USA being rich and fat on credit, being in deficit expenditure for Haliburton asset growth and nothing else for the ordinary American, just oodles for the rich, what a dreadful place it is... And if this disaster brings reality back, why does it always take such pain, and if the San Andreus Fault decides to slip and the Next Great Definitely Expected San Francisco Earthquake occurs then it will really be on...

Spiral Down On The Right Wing, It Takes A Big Smart Left Wing To Fly Again

It always takes a Socially Responsible Government to dig out the survivors after Great Right Wing crashes, the spiral down on one big dumb right wing, and it takes a big left wing to get the thing to fly again... Just as history teaches us time and again...

We Ought To Ban Baseball Hats In Australia As Well As The Scarves Of Division

The behaviour of the community as seen on the Media is another damning indictment on the social values of the America of today, when the civilisation descends into bloody greedy packs of marauding militia, looting, plundering, stealing, and denying the weak, not helping, no decency, it is really disgusting... While some good hearted souls do some selfless aid to the community, it's a true shame on the sort of society they have grown up in America, I reckon we ought to ban baseball hats in Australia as well as the scarves of division, we ought to start looking after ourselves in Australia, you can see how much any help could be relied on from a bad place like America today... They don't give a cuss for anyone else, so if they cause another war and drag us into it and then cop the retaliation they ask for, you can be sure they wont be helping us out, when they lick their own wounds... Don't join the bully gang, you just get dragged down...

God's Voice Speaking To The USA

2005 September 1, Thursday, 11:07

God's Voice Speaking To The USA

It's a Sign, It's a Sign, yes, America, well the USA has been given a message from god, or whatever little voice speaks to them in their own minds, it's this: It's not a good idea to live below Sea Level... It goes along with the one that says: Don't build buildings which concertina when there's a fire... That's god's voice speaking to the USA, and of course its saying: Don't elect idiots... As well as Pull your own heads in... See they're being warned all the time from their own god, whatever else could they think???

They Ought To Make All The Public School Scarves Into Bikinis

2005 August 29, Monday, 16:24

The Resignation Of The Brash Brogden

Lissening in on ABC666 for the resignation of the Brash Brogden, I didn't like him and then I tolerated him and now he's been kicked out of the So-Called Libs I like him even more, cause he's come under fire from the Young So-Called Libs who have two factions, the Rottweilers and Wet Blankets, and they say it was poor Brogo's lot to be considered a lefty and had a history of backing injection rooms for one thing, see there's the crazy religious law banning drugs coming into play, making bad things happen, banning is always a risky business...

They Ought To Make All The Public School Scarves Into Bikinis

Cause Black Bronny popped up with Banning The Scarf, and so did that even worse example of the female, Soppy Polopulous, Urrrrrrrrghhh... And so I was enjoined to agree, I reckon they ought to make all the public school scarves into bikinis... But there's all sorts of sides being taken up, particularly for the top job, like Malcolm MalContempt TurnOverBull has a tax cut for the very rich, which the Little MailOrder Leader likes, but poor Dog CostAhellOfAlot, has said it’s a tax cut for millionaires and is bad, so the eggs cracking all over... Little Humpty Dumpty is splattering all over the place...

Economist = Preacher = Astrologer = Fortune Teller = Pollster = Wife = Witch Doctor = Spin Doctor = Bookie

And the real hero sticking to good Principles is the Greens, with Dr BrownStudy saying that tax cut money should go to Public Services like Health and Education... So!!! Meanwhile we are hearing from all the Economist = Preacher = Astrologer = Fortune Teller = Pollster = Wife = Witch Doctor = Spin Doctor = Bookie , saying that we will never having a crash and the BooHooom will go forever, to all the Profits of Dooooom saying it's already crashed last December and spending is drying up, like the oil is, and so the real estate scan is showing a lot of houses being thrown onto the Holy Market bonfire... Anyone got a match? Oh yes, the Developers do, and the Migration Department seems to like stoking up the fire, and it burns, burns, burns, that's a Johnny CaaHaaa$H song,

Stop Immigration Completely For The Next Fifty Years, And Then Have A Referendum, It's A Dud

Stop Immigration Completely For The Next Fifty Years, And Then Have A Referendum, It's A Dud

Screaming, screaming and it's at the ABC666 playing all this crap about the veil, or the scarf, or the hijab, or whatever it is, why do Australians have to learn about them for christ's sake, they should be learning about us... We are getting all these apologists for some other religious garbage or another all the bluddy time, I wanna hear about our Aussie Wimmen and Blokes World not some crazy foreign sect with stupid rules that don't belong here and we don't wanna hear or know or be bothered with... It's none of our business, it's up to the migrants to make up their own stupid minds up about whether they wanna be Australians or not, meanwhile they ought to stop immigration completely for the next fifty years, and then have a referendum before they ever let it happen again, it's a dud...

Stick This As A Bookmark In Their Crazy Fundamentalist Books

Oh and talk about foot in mouth, we've had ludicrous and bizarre dalliance this time with Simpson's Donkey being held up as being Aussie values, turns out he was an illegal pommy immigrant and loaded up with inconsistencies, anyway the Aussie values to be put on Immigrants getting in here ought to start off with how our Parliaments make the laws, the only laws, and not some other set of primitive authoritarian garbage you get in scriptures and bibles and korans and the like, they can leave those in the dustbins they come from... The only lesson to be drawn from the those lands is how they're now deserts and perpetually at war over some sort of god's real estate agency, and the other values for being granted Aussie citizenship are being in favour of bikinis and music and grog, Bloke's World values, and public school uniforms for an egalitarian education free from religion... Stick this as a bookmark in their crazy fundamentalist books...

The Brave Story Of The Officer Under The Captain Of The Voyager

2005 August 26, Friday, 11:51

The Brave Story Of The Officer Under The Captain Of The Voyager

The situations one can find oneself in if one's fate had taken a path to hell, cause I just heard the brave story of the Officer under the Captain of the Voyager and his predicament of having the epitome of the bad boss, his revealing story came up against the intransigence of the Navy who zipped up against him and virtually drove him mad for doing the right thing, and what a coincidence, he was down in Khancoban, when the news of the destroyer Voyager being steered drunkenly under the nose of the aircraft carrier Melbourne, and all those poor young sailors sacrificed to mad authority... So the Whistle-Blower Bashing has been so entrenched and nowadays is definitively back in vogue with the blame shifting Little Finger Pointing's wedging of just about everyone, like how could anyone like him? Cept for cross-one-eyed gullible idiot Aussies and George Bush???

The List Of Fascist Identifiers...

The List Of Fascist Identifiers...

I like these definitions that hit at simplifying the Prominent Points about the things that are dangerous to us, so you can recognise them when you see them happening in your own backyard, and here's one which describes the Little Twit's Neo-Con Government they have elected three times in Australia, showing how Australians are such blind fools to fall for this pack of tricksters... It's the list of Fascist Identifiers... And thanks to Con for finding these little bombs to throw up...

See How Familiar They Sound.

In an essay coyly titled “Fascism Anyone?,” Dr. Lawrence Britt, a political scientist, identifies social and political agendas common to fascist regimes. His comparisons of Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Suharto, and Pinochet yielded this list of 14 “identifying characteristics of fascism.” (The following article is from Free Inquiry magazine, Volume 23, Number 2. Read it at http://www.secularhumanism.org/library/fi/britt_23_2.htm) See how familiar they sound.

1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism

Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights

Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of “need.” The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause

The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

4. Supremacy of the Military

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

5. Rampant Sexism

The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

6. Controlled Mass Media

Sometimes the media are directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media are indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

7. Obsession with National Security

Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

8. Religion and Government are Intertwined

Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

9. Corporate Power is Protected

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

10. Labor Power is Suppressed

Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts

Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment

Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations

13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption

Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

14. Fraudulent Elections

Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

This list will be familiar to students of political science. But it should be familiar to students of religion as well, for much of it mirrors the social and political agenda of religious fundamentalisms worldwide. It is both accurate and helpful for us to understand fundamentalism as religious fascism, and fascism as political fundamentalism.

A Quick Fix To Globalism, The Bird Flu Epidemic

2005 August 24, Wednesday, 08:32

A Quick Fix To Globalism, The Bird Flu Epidemic

Woke to the story developing about the Bird Flu Epidemic that is feared to spread once the virus crosses the species barrier into humans, and if ever a quick fix to Globalism could happen this would be it, the isolation tactic would be invoked, like the Quarantine for the Black Death, but this time they talk of closing all ports and airports and putting up the walls, well we could have done it if the Protection of Australia hadn't been ripped up by the Neo-Cons, because we aren't self-sufficient but bound into imports to even get food on the table, but now there are predictions that not just millions but billions could die if this epidemic got under way, it's a pessimistic scary scenario, but is taken seriously and already the actions to kill off domestic birds and the watch on migratory birds, well it don't look too good, and there isn't any vaccine, so what do ya do?

You Can All Die On The Cheap

One thing, we all really know deep down that no intervention by gods and spirits will work, so don't wear out your knees, better just get into some non-contamination gear, gloves and masks and filters? They had all those cloth masks back when the Pneumonic Plague hit in 1919? Ah, Multiculturalism Disease brought to you by Globalisation of the World, You Can All Die On The Cheap, put that in the Neo-Con illegal advertising campaigns...

Global Climate Change Is Melting The Almost Mythical North West Passage

A lot more on the bizarre side is where Global Climate Change is melting the almost mythical North West Passage over the North Pole and opening up possibilities for oil and minerals exploration, and the exploitation brigade to get their mythical dirty little hands on, cept this time you've the convergent of some of the major continents and Canada and Russia and claims and threats and warnings already thrown into the ring by the USA, so the wonders of the world of High Tech Heat will be fighting over that, and will the United Nations get to a vote? Oh dear, the collapse of World Trade and the passage opens up, a cruel god ain't it, but nature will have it's way rather...

Harry Evans The Clerk Of The Senate, Displaying A Rugged Public Servant Example

2005 August 22, Monday, 22:37

The Conventions Of Frank And Fearless And Faithless Advice

The Little Maggoo lapdog got a titbit tossed from the George Dubya-Dubya-III  Monster Mongrel, and said it was for public services, what a hopeless joke that is, the only thing they ought to pin on his chest is a target, for muck of course... This is the Little Scunge who fired the Public Service and installed all the Noddies around their rotten Gov to destroy the Conventions of frank and fearless and faithless advice, and so we got all the cover ups, and the implementation of nasty administration, that's a Constitutional crime or oughta be...

Harry Evans The Clerk Of The Senate, Displaying A Rugged Public Servant Example

And then there's the wonderful Harry Evans the Clerk of the Senate, displaying a rugged Public Servant example, where he's challenged the Little Sleaze's spending on balls in the air over wiping out Industrial Relations in advertising campaigns, for legislation which isn't even on the table, so the High Court will be deciding in their stacked lopsided single person appointment model, what the legalities are, and stiff cheese for the confidence in the Law...

2/3 Majority Of All Parliamentarians

The High Court should be appointed by 2/3 majority of all Parliamentarians, and so should all Government appointments to positions of authority, like the G-G, lest we get the pack of Noddies that Harry Evans stands so far apart from... And also don't forget the Australian Father of the Year who the Little Smirk appointed to rip-off the Australian Public on the Telstra Board, to represent the Public's interests, Ha ha, ha, god what a hopeless joke, so funny when he apologises while his tax avoidance schemes and insider trading get swept under the So-called Liberal Party's carpet, must be awful under there if it's this bad on top...

Typical Rottenness This Little Sludge's Government Wallows In

And look at the assassination of the ABC Public Broadcaster, remember that complete idiot they appointed to stuff it up? He was so like them, Jonathon High-Wires or something, he was their real Lu-Lu... And then there was the Paedophile Protector as Governor General, yep, jobs for their boys... All the while the real heroes who blew the whistle on these Neo-Con cretins got the shaft, typical rottenness this Little Sludge's government wallows in...

Student Compulsory Union Fees

2005 August 22, Monday, 10:58

Look At This Flap Over Student Compulsory Union Fees For University Campus Facilities

Going halfway doesn't work well in situations like sex and love I spose cause half way wouldn't be enough... But look at this flap over student compulsory union fees for university campus facilities, that fight goes back in history and should have been a battle the unions never lost, universal unionism would have been so much better than individual contract rip-offs, but it still lingers on in the best traditions for uni students, and the fervour is still there to keep it...

To Deny All The Benefits That Paying Union Fees Provides

But why can't the idiot Neo Con Gov let it lie? Why wade back thru the muck to deny all the benefits that paying union fees provides, it gives you an extra strength, a vote and the power of collective action, that's the ideological problem the Neo-cons have, they want the world to be where the rich pay the poor as little as possible, they want to reduce wages to the lowest common denominator like Asian wages paid to the un-unionised, the lowest anyway, they call it world's best practice, and smirk all the way to their privatised rip-off banks...

My Political Thesis Had Followed That Middle Of The Road Split Between Private And Public

2005 August 22, Monday, 10:58

Something In The Air, Or Something In The Drink

Anyway it musty have been something in the air, or something in the drink, but there was one of those great meaningful moments that lasted and lasted, so satisfying, it was the revelation theory at work, that when you're impassioned with new ideas they feel like they come from inspiration without, but they are really announced from within your own head, and there's so much trouble with people who've said it was a divine revelation from a very private conversation with you know what/who? But it isn't, it's that pleasure from thinking of things that fit in with the jigsaw of understanding the universe better, So!

My Political Thesis Had Followed That Middle Of The Road Split Between Private And Public

I was thinking how my political thesis had followed that middle of the road split between Private and Public, the going halfway proposition and then I took it on further, like to be sane is really half way between madness and certainty, and being in the middle is a better proposition to deal with the unexpected... So! You can be half beautiful and half ugly, half left, half right, half stupid, half smart, half old, half young... So! Makes you think there's a halfway point, the point of no return, you go any further and there's no turning back, that commitment, well half committed really... So while the Planet is dying of Mankind, just where is the half way point! We've been pushed way past it I reckon... So! Finding the midpoint is a very special place, and going halfway would be a good thing when there are extremes... Like what we've got with this Globalisation thing, as if half the people of the world want it when really it's only a tiny few and less if the misled knew...

If The Planet Was Run On Seeking The Halfway Points For All The Arguments

So if this world running on  Winner Takes All philosophy of Global Capitalism then the Planet is doomed, but if the planet was run on Seeking The Halfway Points for all the Arguments then we could sort things out, going down the middle of the road would be the best of both worlds, you'd get the Public Services run on honourable dealings for the principles of public good rather than for money and profits, and you'd get that jungle competition for producing the consumer goods, the private products we can buy where competition for quality could be the reason to buy, or consume, seems so much more appropriate...

Good To Hear John Ralston Saul, Like A Seer In The Night

2005 August 19, Friday, 20:28

Good To Hear John Ralston Saul, Like A Seer In The Night

Was so good to hear John Ralston Saul the other night and some snippets since, he's like someone holding a clear view up of all the crap going on, he has a way of speaking clearly, with clarity, and shows you all those images of things that you see as well, so he's like a window washer for me, cause what he sees I see, and I think a lot of sane people would have to see as well, it's a curse to be blessed with sanity, it's such a loathsome toll on you, you can't just let things go thru to the keeper, you have to play every bluddy ball, what a bog it is... Anyway, he came, he showed us, and is probably gone, like a seer in the night...

The Popeyed Ideas Of Competition For Money

I loved the way John Ralston Saul brought all the Neo-Con irrational crap into the argument, he was saying as how Globalism was already self-destructing, having awoken the sleeping giants of hatred in the human race, listing nationalism, and racism along with all it's adherents, and then brought in the gods being adopted all over as well, so all the Globalised bits of the world are suffering from exporting their jobs and importing cheap unhappiness, it seems there are other things involved in good government rather than the popeyed ideas of competition for money...

The Snake Swallowing Up It’s Own Tail

So, that's it, the message is that human jealousies and hatreds and racism have already been whipped up by the competition of Globalisation, that the Globalised World has descended into primitive nationalistic ghettos and religious idiocy, so much for the United Nations style ideas of protecting, and sharing, and the playing fields devoid of large capitalist corps swallowing all the competition up, and using the most repressive worker regimes, and I spose, wiping out a lot of their own consumers, it's like the snake swallowing up it’s own tail... When's the last time we've stood up against Monopoly and Oligopoly and stood up for Public Services??? When will we vote for a Government who will look after us rather than the US...

Public Services And Private Products, It's Really Relaxed And Comfortable For Your Kids Too

And John Ralston Saul's good on that image about the big corporate board people being just risk free self padding bureaucrats who specialise in reducing competition, they buy off all the competitors, it's a farce... And then they start coming up with all these rules for their own jungle, regulate this and that and put aside a fund cause the big corps wont do what you want... What a wank of a system, it should have stayed where the Public owned and operated the Public Services, the infrastructure and things you can toll, and restrict capitalism to producing products, the bells and whistles, they can compete themselves to death manufacturing, and never let to corner the market... That’s all you need, Public Services and Private Products, it's a winner, it's really relaxed and comfortable for your kids too...
